Is this plug-and-play or do I need to do a workaround to get it to work. Isn't Capture One subscription based these days?

 

I'm trying the follow the install instructions but I'm lost.

Step 1 says: Open application for once! (This is important). Once you get the log in / activation dialog close it completely.

Do I open Setup.exe or CaptureOne.exe ?

Step 2 says: Replace patched file in program directory and confirm replacing it.

How do I do this?

Step 3 says: Use a firewall to block the application's incoming and outgoing calls to prevent online checks!

How? And do I do this in Windows Settings or Google Chrome?

Step 4 says: Tested at current time and by setting system date few years ahead.

How do I do this?

Step 5 says:
Block the following lines or sue firewall!
0.0.0.0 activation.phaseone.com
127.0.0.1 industrial.phaseone.com
127.0.0.1 coweb.phaseone.com
127.0.0.1 help.phaseone.com

Is this the same as step 3?

To open the hosts file in Notepad, click "File", "Open", and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc . You'll see a file named hosts . Double click on that file to open it.

At the end of the last line in there (whatever that might be) add the lines:


0.0.0.0 activation.phaseone.com
127.0.0.1 industrial.phaseone.com
127.0.0.1 coweb.phaseone.com
127.0.0.1 help.phaseone.com
