There is more to photographing the aurora borealis than merely pressing a button, therefore my aim in writing this picture guide is to help you be ready for a successful Northern Lights excursion. Season of travel, route planning, technical expertise, and equipment are all things to think about. I'll discuss my knowledge and pertinent advice with you in the hopes that it will make your search for the Northern Lights less difficult. The fundamentals of photography and how to use a camera in manual mode are not covered in this book. This photo handbook won't replace the one that came with your camera, but it will teach you some of the specifics of photographing the northern lights.

For every place, there are general guidelines about the aurora borealis, travel arrangements, weather predictions, and suggested packing lists. Everything in the book is based on my study and personal experience. There is no assurance that the circumstances will be the same on a subsequent trip. Unfortunately, the weather still depends on luck. No one can guarantee you will see the Northern Lights on your journey, not even with the best planning and preparation, but good luck because fate favors the prepared!
